It’s no secret that women are vastly underrepresented in managerial roles in leading businesses.  Grant Thornton’s recent ‘Women in business: the value of diversity’ study found that mixed gender boards outperform their male-only counterparts, but only one in ten of the companies surveyed had female board executives. Further to this, a recent study by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), suggested that ‘old boys' networks are stopping women from getting into the boardrooms of the UK's top companies.
